"Creek Bank Study"

Today's painting is not a travel photo like most of the other paintings in this challenge. Instead it is a study I did today in class of a nearby creek. It is based on two photos that I taped together to fashion a panorama shot.
First I did a black and white study using three values to get my values set (see below).
Then I did the second study in color. Hopefully this color study will translate into a 24"x24" painting over the next couple weeks of class. Stay tuned for more.
